Here is this week’s quote from the book Pure Grace:
“The leaven of the law has corrupted the truth about our heavenly Father. Something is amiss in our understanding of Him if He is seen as worse a father than I am!” “(Page 125 Pure Grace).
Let’s Talk Grace
Most Christians agree that God is our spiritual Father, but it pains me to say that many don’t think of Him as a very good one. All too often God is believed to be distant, uncaring, and unyielding, being more interested in our good behavior than anything else.
We need a new reformation of thought and a great awakening to the truth about our heavenly Father. An understanding of Grace is the beginning of such an awakening and reformation. There was a time when God was angry, but that ended when He extinguished His righteous anger upon His only begotten Son, who had willingly become “sin on our behalf” (2 Cor. 5:21).
No form of judgment, anger, or disappointment from the Father was spared at the cross. For this reason, we need not fear Him now… or ever!
We can and should come into His presence at any time in order to receive rejection, discipline, and correction? Heavens no, but mercy and grace in time of need (Hebrews 4:16). Your life will change dramatically when you see God the Father as He truly is – loving, forgiving, merciful, gentle, kind, as well as holy, righteous and just.
